Proportional and fixed fees
Under the Attorney Minimum Fee Tariff published by the Union of Turkish Bar Associations, fees for monetary claims are calculated on a sliding scale of brackets (Part Three). Each type of court or proceeding also has a fixed minimum fee (Part Two). Where the proportional amount is lower than the fixed fee, the fixed fee applies, provided it does not exceed the principal claim.
Costs award and contractual fee
The fee the court orders the losing party to pay is calculated according to the tariff. The fee agreed between lawyer and client is set by a written engagement agreement and cannot be lower than the tariff.
